What is an eFoil?
The Lift eFoil uses an advanced lithium-ion battery to power a silent electric motor that’s mounted on an all-carbon fiber hydrofoil, all controlled with a wireless Bluetooth hand controller. Riders can fly above the water for over an hour at speeds of up to 25 mph.
Riding an eFoil
Riding an eFoil is a totally unique experience that can be done in most water conditions. Everything from lakes, rivers, bays, and even the ocean is up for grabs! You hover above the water riding on the wing and experience a feeling of weightlessness. This feeling is similar to riding deep snow on skis or a snowboard. Once you try it you’ll be hooked!
Who Can Use the eFoil?
The Lift eFoil was designed for everyone from total beginners looking for a fun and safe experience to top athletes who are seeking their next thrill. We generally recommend the eFoil for riders ages 16 and up, who weigh less than 250 pounds.
The process of learning to ride is very straight forward. You begin on your stomach getting comfortable with the board and throttle before transitioning to your knees and finally your feet.
Lessons
Intro lessons our EFA (eFoil Association) approved introductory lessons are one on one and run between 1.5 and 2 hours. Safety briefing and on-land instruction typically lasts 20 minutes. The remainder of the time is spent in the water being coached by an instructor on Lift’s 5’6” Cruiser Model. The Cruiser is the bestseller that makes foiling easy, with ample stability and plenty of excitement.
Lessons include a full battery charge on your personal eFoil, instruction, wetsuit, life jacket, and helmet.
Group lessons split the lesson/board/battery time with a friend or family member.
Intermediate lessons/expedition* take your skills outside of the lake and come explore the Peninsula on an expedition to Sand Island, Waikiki Beach, or Willapa Bay. *Condition dependent/must have taken an intro lesson. Ask for more details.
Lesson Locations
Lessons meet at Skookum headquarters in Seaview where we’ll size you for a wetsuit/life jacket/helmet and finalize any details. You’ll want to bring sunscreen and a towel.
Most intro lessons will be conducted at Blake Lake in Ilwaco, WA. There’s a park and dock that’s great for taking pictures to document your experience!
Oregon lessons can be held at Cullaby Lake. Lessons can meet here if wetsuit size is known ahead of time. Please reach out for more information.
Intermediate lessons/expedition locations include Waikiki Beach, the Ilwaco channel, and Willapa Bay.
