SKIMFEST – August 22 & 23
Skookum Surf Co. is stoked to have Dashboard Skims visiting Long Beach for a couple days of skimming.
Whether you already know how to skimboard or have always wanted to try it, now is your chance to get your feet on a quality American-made skimboard. Learn new tricks from the Dashboard Team Riders or have fun watching your kids have fun.
Prizes for longest ride, best trick and worst wipeout.

- 1 Day Skim Camp - 2 hour Skim Lesson - $25

Where to Start?
- This year we are making extensive additions to the fun we offer, namely; overnight surf camps (with our friends at Camp of Champions), bike rentals & internet/computer/art in the shop. This is in addition to our long running surf lessons, surf and skim rentals.
Why Bike Rentals?
- Because you can only surf for 4hrs a day! Also because even though we think surfing is the absolute best way to enjoy your time on the peninsula, it isn't for everyone. Bicycles are the second best way to experience the peninsula, nevermind the practical and healthy aspects of riding a bike, just cruising along he dunes on the discovery trail on a vintage cruiser is a simple, yet indulgent experience unlike anything else. Why Internet/Art?
- Because we love the internet and even though you shouldn't spend more than an hour or two in there everyday (read leave the computer at home, and use ours) you might still need it...so we provide it. As for the arts and crafts, Well we just needed to put something on our walls besides Skookum shirts and hoodies. Plus, Nick, our VP of Lessons learned to knit this winter and made a bunch of really cool hats.
Some Things Never Change
- We will continue to provide premium beginner to intermediate surf lessons in a fun and safe learning environment. Whether you have always wanted to try surfing, but have never had the opportunity, or are just looking for a way to tire out your kids, learning to surf is one of the most enjoyable and healthiest activities on the Longbeach Peninsula.

- That you should get in touch with any questions whatsover! We will be doing online bookings for surf lessons so see our surf lesson calendar on the Surf Lesson page for optimal lesson times on a given day. We will be offering premium surfboard demos from our Instructor's favorite Surftech boards, perfect if you already know how to surf, but don't have your board or want to try something new. Finally, we will be accepting debit/visa/mastercard.
